UDHS Honors 2018 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees on March 4
Distinguished Cardinal Award added in 2018

Upper Dublin High School has selected their eighth group of inductees for the UDHS Athletic Hall of Fame. Athletic Director Eric Greiner and Principal Bob Schultz proudly announced the selection of five former athletes, one former coach and one team. The induction Ceremony will be held Sunday, March 4, 2018, at 2 PM at Upper Dublin High School. This year, a special award for extraordinary support of UDHS Athletics has been established and will be presented at the event.
The Class of 2018 inductees includes six decades of UDHS athletics (1968 through 2010) who represent seven sports: football, soccer, wrestling, baseball, lacrosse, field hockey, and swimming. Eric Greiner, chairperson for the Hall of Fame Committee, commented, “When I spoke to the inductees, each was surprised, honored and humbled at being selected for playing an integral role in UD's athletic history. This group truly embodies Cardinal excellence.”
The 2018 induction class includes the following student-athletes: Stu Marvin (Class of 1973), Jon MacKenzie (Class of 1989), Brian Palme (Class of 1993), Megan Lafferty (Class of 2009) and Amy Cross (Class of 2010). Also selected was legendary wrestling coach Jim Holt, and the 1993 State Championship Boys' Swimming team. The first recipient of the Distinguished Cardinal Award is Dick Stoll, who has dedicated close to a half century to Upper Dublin athletics in various positions.

Addressing the Hall of Fame nomination and selection process, Principal Schultz said, “Despite this being the eighth group of inductees, we continue to receive many worthy nominations and the committee had to make some very difficult decisions. I was taken aback by the depth of athletic talent and number of accomplishments that UDHS has enjoyed. Honoring these former athletic standouts epitomizes Cardinal Pride.”
This year’s Hall of Famers will be honored at a reception and formal induction ceremony on Sunday March 4, 2018, at 2 PM. A plaque commemorating their accomplishments will be added to the “Athletic Wall of Fame,” which is located in the main lobby of the high school’s Athletic Complex.
