Air Products Raising Its Prices

Major local employer raising prices to offset operating costs

Air Products & Chemicals Inc. of Trexlertown announced Thursday that it will raise prices on liquid and bulk industrial gases, and also raise service charges in North America.

The changes will take effect October 1, or as contracts permit, according to a company press release.

Liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, liquid argon, and liquid and bulk hydrogen prices are expected to go up 5 to 10 percent. Monthly service charges may see a 3 to 5 percent hike. Air Products is raising prices to offset higher operating and input costs.

Air Products is one of the Lehigh Valley's largest employers with 18,300 workers and operations in more  than 40 countries.

Founded in 1940, the company has customers across a wide range of industries from food and beverage, health and personal care to energy, transportation and  semiconductors.
