Call For A bulk Pick up to Waste Management

I just wanted to share with Upper Macungie Residents that I called the phone number listed on the newsletter sent out to everyone on refuse/ waste rules for Waste Management. It took about 1/2 hr for them to locate me in their system to schedule a bulk pickup. Your address, name, phone number, invoice , acct. etc. doesn't help them. Totally ridiculous waste of time. The woman was very pleasant and I was trying to keep my baby grandson happy during this call which should have taken 2 minutes. Then on April 21 truck came with only one man. He had to lift a queen mattress, box spring, and extremely heavy desk which my husband even took apart to help. Each time this worker loaded a piece he would get back into the truck, pull up the road a bit and then dispose of it and back down for the next item. I was watching and it took me a moment to realize he was being of my trees!!! So not to damage them. I called Waste Mgnt. Because I wanted to give a compliment to this driver as I am sure they only get complaints. Once again, only this time a very polite man could not locate me through our names, address, phone,acct. NOTHING. I was on the phone longer this time because it was important to me as a resident in this same home since 1999 for this driver to be acknowledged. He told me after much trying to help to call the township and explain the difficulties of just trying to schedule a pick up etc.Apparently since we pay the township the trash bill with their acct. # and Waste Mngt. Has a 9 digit # there is a disconnection for us as residents to be found. I called the township, the woman in charge was out for the week so I was told to email her. I will not say her name but I emailed her and explained all this and asked her to please pass the thank you on as it was very important to my husband and I especially in this day and age . I also asked her how to make this less cumbersome and time wasting to just make a phone call for a bulk pickup. What is my 9 digit acct from the township to the trash/ refuse? I received NO EMAIL BACK so I got no where.I don't have time to waste and nor do any of you but I made it a priority to follow through to this post for some resolution as I and another resident will certainly have to go through this again. Also it can really make a persons day and raise their spirits to hear "job well done" instead of nothing or what is usually a complaint. Mr. & Mrs. R. Schmiedel
