Bethlehem, PA -- Embassy Bank for the Lehigh Valley has announced three promotions.
David Arner has been named Senior Vice President, Commercial Services. Mr. Arner has 30 years of experience in community banking; the most recent eight years with Embassy as Commercial Services Manager. He is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and an active member of the Association of Financial Professionals (AFP).

In the community, Mr. Arner serves as Treasurer, Bethlehem Area School District Authority; Vice-Chair, Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School Authority; Chair, United Cemetery Association; Treasurer, Christ Church—United Church of Christ; Board Member of the Penn Northeast Conference, United Church of Christ. He formerly served as Treasurer and Board Member of the Soccer Association of the Lehigh Valley. Mr. Arner attended Bloomsburg University, and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association of Bucknell University.
Diane Effting has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending. A local banking professional since 1981, Ms. Effting has been a commercial loan specialist at Embassy for nine years. She is a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic with additional studies in business and finance at DeSales University. In the community, she serves as an assistant soccer coach for the East Side Youth Center, Allentown.

Lisa Schmidt has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Commercial Lending. She has been with Embassy for seven years, most recently as Assistant Treasurer working in underwriting and commercial lending. She is a business management graduate of Moravian College and graduate of the Risk Management Association’s commercial lending program at East Carolina University. In the community, Ms. Schmidt is an active volunteer with Second Harvest Food Bank and former board member of Emmaus Main Street Partners.
