“Shelters are intended to be safe and warm places for people in need. It’s far easier to deliver the warmth when you have enough blankets,” said Cope.
"This is the perfect time of year for a program like this and I’m proud of our members for getting behind it.”

“Cold Blue Alert”
According to the Allentown Rescue Mission’s website, it is “maintaining a Cold Blue alert this week due to the extremely cold weather…”
“At this time of frigid temperatures, the blankets will be a great help to the homeless men that we serve. We are grateful that the Lehigh Valley Business Group thought of the Allentown Rescue Mission," said Chris Aylward, the new CEO of the rescue mission.
LVBG worked with its 22 community partners to coordinate blanket drop-off and collection locations throughout the region and delivered the blankets directly to the shelters last week.
