The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP) is kicking off this year’s Girl Scouts Cookie Season a few days early with free fun and entertainment in the Lehigh Valley. Troops will enjoy rock climbing, cookie box sculpture building, and even roller-skating. Those who participate in at least two activities at the kickoff will be able to receive a special Cookie Rally patch.
Girl Scout Cookies represent the impactful hard work of the young girls, who spend the weeks leading up to cookie season readying for the program period. This year, the official cookie season kicks off on Jan. 17, 2013 and concludes on March 3, 2013. Troops spend the two-month season providing cookies to their family, friends and neighbors for just $4.00 per box. This year’s program theme is “What Can a Girl Do?” and continues its tradition of providing girls with an avenue to learn financial literacy and practice important leadership skills while earning proceeds for troop and council activities for the remainder of the year. Easily find out where to buy cookies near you by entering your zip code into the Cookie Locator tool found on www.gsep.org.
