Geocaching...sponsored by Upper Macungie Township
Geocaching is a unique outdoor recreational activity much like a scavenger hunt. Participants, regardless of their age and ability, using latitude/longitude coordinates and a hand-held GPS unit or smart phone with GPS capabilities to locate hidden containers (called “caches”) and maybe find a “treasure” of sorts.
As part of our event, we will hide caches and give you the coordinates to help you on your search. If you have a GPS unit, bring it along. If you don’t, we hope to have made arrangements to have units to loan out.
