Great Catch at Upper Macungie Fishing Event
Everyone who took part in the Family Fishing Program at Apple Park in Upper Macungie caught at least one fish.

The organizers of Upper Macungie Family Fishing Day are batting a thousand after Saturday's event. Or would that be fishing a thousand?
That's because all 23 people who took part in the program at Apple Park caught either sunnies, blue gills or large mouth bass, according to township Supervisor Edward Earley. The event was catch-and-release.
Earley said representatives from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission taught participants how to bait the hook and cast, as well as general fishing regulations and tips.

The success of the event was a credit to the township Recreation Board and the township's commitment to providing "varied recreational oppoturnities to its residents and preserving open space," Earley said.
Jim Soltis, township parks foreman "did an excellent job," Earley said. "The comments we received were extremely positive."
