Hit and Run Suspect Found

Police, with the community's help, identify a suspect in the hit and run at Lone Lane Park.

After receiving a number of tips from residents, identified a suspect in a hit and run that damaged the utility box at Lone Lane Park.

“This is truly an excellent example of the Township, residents, Public Works employees and the police working together to bring the offender to justice,” said Investigator Peter V. Nickischer in an email.

Nickischer gave the Township credit for installing video cameras at Lone Lane. But the tips that lead to the suspect came from a resident and a diligent Public Works employee.

The suspect driver is an Upper Macungie resident, but the police did not want to release any more details because the charges are still pending.

No arrest has been made.

"If it weren't for the surveillance video cameras installed at our parks, we would have not been able to solve this case,” Nickischer said.
