Movies-in-the Park, Family Fishing Top Week Ahead
A fundraising breakfast for Gress Mountain Ranch and the second annual CROP Hunger Bike Ride also highlight the week's events in town.

Movies-in-the-Park, which was postponed last week due to predictions of inclement weather, will be held Friday at dusk at Grange Park. Games and activities start at 7 p.m. Band music begins at 7:15 p.m. The show begins at dusk and refreshments will be available.
The popular Family Fishing Day returns to The Ponds at Apple Park in Fogelsville this Saturday at 9 a.m.The program is free, but you must register at the township's web site -- www.uppermac.org.
A fundraising flapjack breakfast for the Gress Mountain Ranch will be held Saturday at Applebee's, located at 1510 Cedar Crest Boulevard in Allentown at 8 a.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Contact Cindy at 610-739-8147.
The second annual CROP Hunger Bike Ride will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m., sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Wheelman's Association. Three scenic routes ranging from 10 to 40 miles will begin at Rodale Park in Trexlertown at 9 a.m. One hundred percent of your registration fee will help fight hunger in the community and around the world. The Parkland Community Library's Book Quest group for adults meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. to discuss 'The Tiger’s Wife,': a novel by Tea Obreht. The library is located at 4444 Walbert Ave. in South Whitehall.
Summer volleyball action continues each Sunday night in the summer at Upper Macungie Park on Route 100 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Parkland School Board holds its only meeting of the month Tuesday at the administration building, located at 1210 Springhouse Road in South Whitehall, at 7 p.m.
The Upper Macungie Planning Board holds its monthly meeting Wednesday night at the township's municipal building at 7 p.m.
