Patch Picks: Five Fall Fashion Trends

Go bold or go home.

Labor Day weekend is the unofficial end of summer….and the start of fall fashion season! Put your flip-flops and tank tops in storage and fall into the newest autumn styles. Here are five Fall Fashion Trends for 2011.

Polka Dots: This trend is popping up in all of the major fashion magazines. The great thing about polka dots is they are so versatile. From shoes to shirts, office attire to outfits for a night out on the town, these darling dots fit any occasion. Just don’t go overboard, one polka dot piece at a time is plenty.

Go Bold: Big, bright colors are definitely in this fall. Crimson red is especially making appearances on the runways. Work the color throughout the entire outfit instead of just pairing with neutrals. Swap out a bright red top and jeans for a bright red dress with matching shoes. Go bold or go home.

Snakeskin: Animal prints done right are always fashion forward, but this year’s trend focus is snakeskin. Snakeskin shoes have been around for a while, but this slithering style is crossing over into wardrobe as well. Designers are coming out with snakeskin pants, tops, and even jackets in all different colors.

60’s Style: Designers are going back in time this fall…into the 1960s. The “mod” style is making its way into the new millennium. Jackets are the biggest 60s staple seen in stores. Look for A-line cuts and bright colors. Also check out 60s-inspired accessories, shoes, and jewelry.

Black and White: If you decide bold colors aren’t your thing, head in the opposite direction. You can’t go wrong with the classics. Mix solids with prints to make the monochrome look more interesting. The best part of this trend? Black works for any body type.

Don’t be sad summer is over, look forward to fall…and all of the fashion that comes with it!
