Student Threat against Teacher Brings Police to Parkland High School

South Whitehall Police were at Parkland High School Monday morning as a precaution, school spokeswoman says.

 

South Whitehall police were at Parkland High School Monday morning as a precaution, following an unspecified threat to a teacher by a student, district spokeswoman Nicole McGalla said.

"They were just there as a precautionary measure," McGalla said.

The threat was made to a teacher Sunday night. She said police were able to identify the student, who was not in school and who was not expected to be.

Police and school officials limited the entry points into the building to two to make sure the student didn't enter. She said the school will likely continue to limit entry points.

High School Principal James Moniz sent an email to parents to alert them to the situation.
