Supervisors Chair Ed Earley Praises Emergency Responders
Supervisors Chair Ed Earley gave public thanks to the firefighters and emergency responders who helped the community in the Sandy Superstorm.

Supervisors Chair Edward Earley made the following statement about the township's emergency responders at the Upper Macungie Supervisors meeting on Thursday:
"On December 23, 1776 Thomas Paine penned these immortal words, 'These are the times that try men’s souls.'
"Considering the superlative response of our three Fire Departments to 37 (?) calls on Monday and Tuesday, I believe these words apply. Many firefighters were without power in their homes and left their own families to ensure the safety of township residents.

This includes the fire companies, their auxiliaries, the CERT Team, the BLRP, Cetronia Ambulance, Fire Commissioner Grant Grim and his staff and the UMT Public Works Department whose efforts were exemplary in keeping our roadways open.
