Upper Macungie Approves New Recreation Board Policy
Recreation Board members can be removed if they miss three consecutive meetings without a valid excuse.

The Upper Macungie Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a new policy Thursday to help ensure good attendance at meetings of the township Recreation Board.
According to the policy, members will be removed from the Recreation Board if they miss three consecutive meetings without a valid excuse.

Richard Kiser, chairman of the nine-member Recreation Board, said Friday that the board has not experienced serious problems with members’ absences from meetings.
However, Kiser said, the Recreation Board asked the supervisors to approve the new policy to help ensure good attendance on a regular basis.

The Recreation Board holds monthly meetings at 7 p.m. the last Thursday of every month.
