Abington Gets $3M Grant for Cancer Center
The 63,000-square-foot cancer center will be located at Abington Health Center's Schilling Campus in Upper Moreland.

A Montgomery County hospital has received a $3 million state grant to assist in the construction of a new cancer center.
The 63,000-square-foot cancer center will be located at Abington Health Center’s Schilling Campus in Upper Moreland. The Intelligencer reported the total cost of the project is $50 million.
“This investment will enhance access to cancer treatment for patients and families here in Montgomery County and across the region,” Gov. Corbett said during an event Monday announcing the grant for the cancer center. “Those who are battling cancer should be able to get the best treatment at a state-of-the-art facility.”

According to information from the state, the center will be a comprehensive, integrated outpatient program dedicated to preventing, diagnosing, treating and improving outcomes in cancer.
