Alleged Montgomery County Scam Artist Finally Arrested...Sitting In A Courtroom: Cops

The fraudster said she was a doctor and adjunct professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

An allegedly elaborate scam artist from Lansdale has been arrested when she was found in court for her daughter’s hearing on a separate case, according to police.

Danna Ntaka, 49, rented out a Green Street home that she herself was renting, police said.

She posed as a doctor named Danna McKellar-Ntaka who, in the fiction, was a doctor and adjunct professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, police said.

Ntaka then moved all her belongings out and collected rent money from the people living there, according to police.

She was only found out when the residents smelled gas in the apartment and called 911, police said.

Police contacted Ntaka but she refused to turn herself her, and officials have described her as a “high flight risk.”

However, when authorities discovered her daughter was going to have a hearing before District Justice Sobeck, they kept a close watch-out for Nkata at the courthouse.

A woman matching Nkata’s description came in with the daughter, signing herself in as “Elizabeth Clemmons,” one of Nkata’s known aliases, police said. Nkata was taken into custody and jailed without incident.

Ntaka has an extensive criminal history and was wanted in multiple states for fraud and theft by deception, police said.

Ntaka was arrested using multiple aliases, each of which used different birthdates and social security numbers.

Nothing in the background investigation conducted by police revealed that Ntaka is a doctor or legally practices medicine of any kind.
