Amazon Fresh Shutting Down In Montgomery County
Some of the shuttered Amazon Fresh stores could become Whole Foods.
WILLOW GROVE, PA — Amazon is shutting down all its Fresh and Go stores around the nation, including the Willow Grove shop, they announced Tuesday.
Amazon Fresh will continue to exist as an online brand.
Beyond Willow Grove, stores in Pennsylvania are found in Bensalem, Broomall, Oxford Valley, Warrington, and Philadelphia.

“While we’ve seen encouraging signals in our Amazon-branded physical grocery stores, we haven’t yet created a truly distinctive customer experience with the right economic model needed for large-scale expansion,” the company said in a statement.
The Willow Grove store is located in the Willow Grove Shopping Center on 102 Park Avenue.

Some closed Fresh and Go stores will be converted to Whole Foods Markets, the company said. It plans to open 100 new stores over the next few years.
The company did not clarify at this point which of the Fresh locations could become Whole Foods stores, or if Willow Grove will be one of those locations.
