Bucks Community Rallies Around Homeless Man

A homeless man had his bike stolen. Citizens went out of their way to right a wrong.

A homeless man, described by acquaintances as extremely kind and compassionate, was enjoying a cup of coffee one day recently at the Doylestown Starbucks when his bike was stolen.

In many cases, the story would end there. Another unfortunate turn of events for an unfortunate man.

But Peter Mitchell and the crew at the Doylestown Starbucks had a different idea. They knew the homeless man well, and longed to remedy the situation.

I’m posting for a friend who works at Starbucks near acme and a kind gentleman whom is homeless had his bike stolen from the store recently with all of his belongings and we’re just trying to help him out. He would give the shirt off his back to someone in need and they’d like to return the favor. Anything would be extremely helpful! Thank you so much!

That’s when Kimberly Cambra, executive director of the CB Cares Educational Foundation, saw the posting and decided to try to help.

She had a gently used bike in need of a pedal, so she replied to the message on Facebook explaining the situation. Another friend donated the needed pedals, and then Brian Boger at Bike Works agreed to do the work.

“A true feel good story,” Cambra said.

Cambra said she believed the homeless man would get his new wheels on Thursday.
