Country's Most Dangerous Intersection is in PA, TIME Says

In its most recent edition, the magazine selects an intersection in Bucks County as the most deadly cross street in the nation.

The country’s most dangerous intersection is in Pennsylvania, according to an analysis recently released by TIME Magazine.

In its most recent edition, the magazine selects the intersection of Street and Knights road in Bensalem, Bucks County as the most deadly cross street in the country.

TIME analyzed data from 2003 to 2012 that assessed how many fatal accidents occurred within approximately 150 feet of each other to come up with the conclusion that the Bucks County intersection is the country’s most perilous.

There were seven fatal accidents at that intersection during the 10-year time period analyzed, TIME said.

“It’s plagued by poor signage, dim, lighting, discontinuous sidewalks, aggressive drivers and jaywalkers, according to a 2008 traffic audit. In a one-mile stretch of Street Road that includes the intersection, there were 144 crashes in the two years leading up to the audit, and 170 people died or were injured,” TIME said in its analysis.
