The evening, hosted by the Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth, will feature a free family movie night, snacks and more.

The final event in the county’s “Fathers Matter” Initiative is planned for this Friday.
The Fathers Matter initiative, an effort by the Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth and community organizations, promotes the involvement of fathers in the lives of their children.
Friday’s event is a free Family Movie Night at Upper Dublin Golf & Fitness Club. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include free snacks, drinks, bonfire and giveaways. “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” will be shown on a large outdoor movie screen. (Please bring your own lawn chair.)

The event is open to all.
“A primary component of the evening will be an opportunity for men to sign a personal Fathers Matter Pledge card and large banner and to obtain a free t-shirt that affirms they have taken the pledge to be an active and responsible father or father-figure who is considerate of the well-being of their child in all matters; will love and take the time to know what matters to their child; be available when the child needs his or her father; stay connected to, listen and help a child succeed; help nurture a healthy well-being of body, mind and spirit within a child; and leave the child with memories of a father who values his child,” according to an event announcement.
