ETC Foundation Sets Dates for 5K, 5th Annual Golf Outing

Forrestine Coombs continues to be amazed by how much she, her family and, the board members and volunteers for the Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation have accomplished in four years’ time.

Since the Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation was created in 2011 to honor her son, Edward, the nonprofit organization has distributed more than $180,000 in scholarships to dozens of local students who have excelled in the classroom and/or the athletic field.

Now, coming up on the organization’s fifth year, Mrs. Coombs said she is confident that this year’s 5K fundraiser (May 21) and the fifth annual golf outing (June 27) will build upon the organization’s positive momentum.

“I continue to be overwhelmed by the unending support we receive from our community,” Mrs. Coombs said. “That’s why we have made it our mission to give back to local families and lift up the ambitions of our young people.”

EC34 5K

The EC34 5K (named for Edward Coombs’ lacrosse jersey number at Marist College) will be held on May 21. The race will be held at Hatboro-Horsham High School Stadium, 899 Horsham Road in Horsham. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the race follows at 8:30 a.m. Winners will be chosen for each age group. Cost is $20 if registered by April 18; or $25 if registered after April 18.
