FRESH GROUND Coffee House: The Christie Lenee Project

The Christie Lenee Project: Acoustic Adrenaline- Folky, kinda funky, often described as "a breath of fresh air." Christie Lenée is a progressive guitarist and conscious singer/songwriter. She was recently selected as Best Guitarist for the 93.7 WSTW Hometown Heroes Awards, and Best Female Singer Songwriter for the Origivation Magazine Awards.  Whether performing solo or with a four-piece band, Lenée’s kinetic fingerboard work, alluring voice, and rich lyrics entrance her audience. She has performed at various festivals, colleges, and concert venues along the east coast, stretching out to Taiwan for a stream of festivals in 2005. The artist has been seen on stage with a stellar cast of musicians, some including Tim Reynolds (NY, PA, and FL), Angel Band, David Bromberg, Jeff Coffin (recorded on “Give and Take In”), Oteil Burbridge (The Allman Brothers), and Marty Balin (Jefferson Airplane). Every show is an experience- it’s awe-inspiring, enlivening.

By 2007, Christie Lenée had released 17 live CDs and two home studio albums. Finally, she embraced a bigger ‘project’ with the album “Set it Free,” a production that took almost three years and includes full choral arrangements, strings, and horns. After the release of “Set it Free” in 2009, the artist ventured to Philadelphia, to an inspiring place to write new music. Since then, the artist has been prolific with songwriting, and recently released the “Acoustic Sessions” cd. This disc features her modern finger-style guitar playing, ornamented with open tunings, finger tapping, and acoustic percussion.
