Ex Waited Under Woman's Bed, Stabbed Her Friend In Montco: Report

The nightmarish assault on his ex-girlfriend's male friend has landed the suspect in prison for decades.

CHELTENHAM, PA — A man has been sentenced to decades behind bars after lying under the bed of a woman he used to date and stabbing her male friend repeatedly.

Gerardo Mejia, 29, of Philadelphia, will spend the next 25 to 50 years in prison, court documents show.

The Times Herald reports that the incident occurred on March 18, 2017 inside the woman's Cheltenham home.

Mejia, who had only dated the woman for a brief time before they broke up, broke into her home and went under the bed to wait, the report states.

The woman asked a male friend to accompany her home because she feared Mejia would be there, according to the report.

When the two arrived at her home, Mejia attacked the man, stabbing him nine times and leaving him with life threatening injuries.

Mejia fled but was quickly captured. He was convicted on charges of attempted murder and burglary.

The woman's friend, who miraculously survived, been hailed as a hero.
