The drawing for what will likely be the third-largest Powerball jackpot in the game’s history is Wednesday. Lottery officials estimate the prize will be about $485 million, with a $327.7 cash value.
Don’t quit your job yet: the odds of winning the jackpot are one in 175 million, according to lottery officials.
The biggest Powerball jackpot on record was a $590.5 million prize won in Florida in May 2013. In November 2012, two players split a $587.5 million jackpot. The current jackpot will be the largest since August 2013, when three players split a $448.4 million prize, according to the website Lottosend.

Wednesday’s drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. Ticket sales stop at least 59 minutes before the drawing.
Powerball is played in 44 states, including Pennsylvania and New Jersey, plus Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The biggest Powerball jackpot on record was a $590.5 million prize won in Florida in May 2013.
