What appeared to be a white parrot escaped its cage in Norristown on Tuesday morning and was promptly chased up a tree by neighborhood feral cats, according to eyewitness reports.
The parrot was sighted near the apartments on New Hope Street, an area that has a strong feral cat population, nearby residents said.
The parrot’s owners have not been identified.

Rescuers were attempting to capture the bird on Tuesday morning but had not had any success as of 1 p.m.
The bird was reportedly perched on the lower branches of an oak tree before several cats leapt up at it, reports stated.

Nearby resident Melanie Cosgrove-Raquet saw the bird because she saw the feral cats “eyeing” what they seemed to want for their next meal.
The parrot left its initial tree sometime around noon and has not been seen since.
