GreenDrop Celebrates New Willow Grove Location with a Shredding Event for Donors
GreenDrop's new location helps Willow Grove cut down on clutter for the new year

On Saturday, November 14, GreenDrop, the organization transforming the way consumers donate goods to support national charities, celebrated the grand opening of their Willow Grove donation center at 318 York Road.
The Philadelphia-based company offers consumers an entirely new way to give this holiday season by donating their gently used clothing and household goods at safe and convenient drive up locations. Every donation received benefits any one of the organization’s partner charities: the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the National Federation of the Blind, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Philadelphia.
“We are very proud of our work helping communities donate more easily while making their neighborhoods greener in the process,” said Tony Peressini, GreenDrop CAO. “GreenDrop’s mission is to help each of the communities we are a part of reduce waste while giving back to charities that rely on funding to continue their programs and good works,” continued Peressini.

GreenDrop celebrated their Willow Grove soft opening to warm reception in late-September, and since then local donors have quickly gravitated to the company and its mission. To show appreciation for the continuous support and generosity received, GreenDrop hosted a free shredding event for donors as a way to help rid their homes of clutter before the new year.
“We are committed to providing you – our donors – with an easy, hassle-free way to support our charity partners. But, we want to do more for the Willow Grove community - that’s why we’re giving our donors a chance to clear out their clutter before the hectic holiday season,” said GreenDrop Community Marketing Coordinator, Colleen Blair.

Committed to doing good for communities, charities, and the environment, GreenDrop, utilizes otherwise abandoned gas stations and convenience stores by converting them into convenient drop off centers where donated goods can be properly stored and protected from the elements. Items collected are then converted to cash so each of the benefiting charities can efficiently further their programs. In 2014, GreenDrop’s efforts raised a total of $2.5 million for participating charities.
“Thanks to GreenDrop and its generous donors, we have the resources to conduct clothing drives as well as continue to provide the same at-home donation pickups that many of our parish members have participated in for so many years,” commented Dominick Bucciarelli, President of GreenDrop’s partner charity, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Philadelphia.
“We hope GreenDrop will continue to be a strong, positive presence in Willow Grove by providing safe, convenient, alternatives for consumers to support charities in need throughout the holidays,” said Colleen Blair.
Open seven days a week, the Willow Grove GreenDrop operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM—8 PM; Saturday, 8 AM—6 PM and Sunday, 10 AM—6 PM.
