Head Of Pa. Trucking Company Steals $40k From Employees, Gets 8 Years In Prison
It underlines an epidemic haunting workers across Pennsylvania.

The former head of a Pennsylvania Trucking Company was sentenced to at least eight years in prison for stealing over $40,000 from his employees, according to a Gant Daily report.
Timothy Lee Kephart, 56, of Morrisdale, will also have to pay back the $40,000 to his employees at the Kephart Trucking Company, and he could face a maximum of 32 years in prison, according to the report.
A recent study by Temple University, reported on by Patch, showed that this is a problem across the state. The study’s authors estimated that up to $32 million in wages are stolen from workers in the state every week.

Employees testified that the company became a terrible place to work when Kephart took over for his father, the report states.
Some employees were not paid their full paychecks, while others had their medical insurance coverage taken away, according to the report. The stresses even led one former employee to suicide.
