Severe thunderstorms and hail are possible Tuesday, and a heat advisory has been issued. How hot will it get?

Severe thunderstorms are possible in Montgomery County Tuesday afternoon and evening, forecasters say, but before they arrive, a heat wave will sweep across the region.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory Tuesday, in effect from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening as a cold front travels through the area. Damaging winds and small hail are possible, according to AccuWeather (see photo).

According to the National Weather Service, the forecast for Monday and Tuesday is:
Tuesday: Severe showers and thunderstorms likely by 3 p.m. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds. Partly sunny, with a high near 91 and a heat index of 97. South wind 10 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Total rain accumulation is predicted to be about an inch.

Tuesday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Northwest wind 7 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms
