Heavy Rain, Wind on the Way Tuesday

You may not need the snow shovel Tuesday but you won’t want to forget your umbrella.

A nor’easter packed with heavy winds and rain will hit Pennsylvania early Tuesday, bringing with it the potential for flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

The Weather Channel predicts as much as two inches of rain could fall in the Philadelphia region, including Bucks and Montgomery counties, on Tuesday. More precipitation, likely a rain and wet snow mix, will fall Wednesday, forecasters said.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook calling for heavy rains starting at dawn Tuesday. Residents should watch out for street flooding and “substantial” rises to streams and creeks, according to the National Weather Service.

High temperatures Tuesday are expected to be in the low 40s. On Wednesday, it should be in the high 30s.

As much as six inches of snow is possible through Tuesday night in the Poconos.
