Horsham Constable to be Honored
College Settlement will present Horsham resident Christopher Weinrich with the Anna Freeman Davies Founders Award.

As long-time insurance executive Christopher L. Weinrich was getting acclimated to his new community in 2001, he and his wife, Cindy, joined various nonprofit organizations in Horsham.
Through the Rotary Club of Horsham, they met Frank Gerome, the long-time Executive Director of the College Settlement Camps. Gerome, who retired in 2013 after 48 years with the camps, had encouraged the couple to get involved with College Settlement’s board.
Soon after, Mr. Weinrich had become President of the Board of Trustees for College Settlement. He served in that role for two years.

“It was always fun and the whole purpose of the camp resonated with me,” he said. “I just enjoyed seeing the kids and seeing how much they enjoyed it.
On Saturday night, November 7th Weinrich will be awarded by College Settlement the prestigious Anna Freeman Davies Founders Award their third annual Acorn to Oaks Gala. The event raises much-needed dollars to help provide outdoor education to thousands of young people each year, including nearly 1,000 children each summer at the day and overnight camps, according to Jan Finnegan, Director of Development at College Settlement. Dr. Darryl Ford, William Penn Charter’s Head of School, will be receiving the other major award of the evening – the Leonard C. Ferguson Youth Advocate Award.

“I’m very honored,” said Weinrich, who also recently served as the interim executive director prior to current Executive Director Rob Kutzik’s appointment in February. “It’s being able to help continue the mission of the camps and helping to ensure that we can continue on for another 125 years.”
Rob Kutzik adds, “Few are more deserving than Chris Weinrich in terms of his years of dedication to College Settlement and our mission of providing outdoor education and affordable summer camping for children throughout the region.”
In addition to his volunteer activities with College Settlement, Weinrich, who has since retired from his career as an insurance executive, has served as a Pennsylvania State Constable in Horsham Township since 2014. He also serves on the Board of the Horsham Neighbor Association; the Chief’s Advisory Team, in conjunction with the Horsham Police Department; and is a member of Horsham’s Emergency Management Team.
