Man Admits to Sexually Assaulting Fellow Nursing Home Resident

A 72-year-old man admitted he sexually assaulted a mentally and physically disabled female resident of the Garden Springs Nursing Center in Upper Moreland during an incident last year, according to reports.
James Washington, 72, was charged in May with indecent assault, indecent assault of a person with a mental disability, harassment and disorderly conduct after he was allegedly caught touching another resident inappropriately, court records show.
Washington, also a resident of Garden Springs Nursing Center, walked into the bedridden woman’s room, pulled her shirt up and was caught touching her breasts, according to a report by The Intelligencer. The publication reported he faces as much as 23 months in prison after pleading guilty in Montgomery County Court.
