Montco Man Set Off Bomb In Apartment Complex

He has been charged with possession of weapons of mass destruction and explosive material.

HORSHAM, PA -- A Horsham man allegedly set off a homemade bomb in the courtyard of his apartment building in November, according to a report.

Stephen Gallagher, 27, filled a military grenade with explosive powder and ignited the device outside the Addison at English Village apartments, The Intelligencer reports.

Officials said the incident could have proved to be deadly. No one was injured in the incident.

Gallagher has been charged with possession of weapons of mass destruction and explosive material, the report states.

Both a bomb sniffing K-9 and a SWAT explosives robot were utilized during the investigation.

Gallagher was arraigned Tuesday and is awaiting his preliminary hearing, according to county records.
