Montgomery County Father Sentenced For 'Shaking' Infant: Report

"Babies are precious gifts," a judge reportedly told the father.

A Limerick man has been sent to jail for “shaking” his 7-week-old son and causing serious injury because he was frustrated, according to a report by the Pottstown Mercury.

Steven Edward Thompson, 44, will spend between six and 23 months in county jail for his actions, the report states, and will have to complete parenting and anger management counseling programs.

“Whether this is your first baby or you have more, babies are precious gifts. They are vulnerable. They’re small, unknowing, trusting in our hands, dependent on us for their needs. Albeit sometimes they are difficult to deal with, they are vulnerable, they are gifts,” Montgomery County Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy told Thompson, according to the Mercury.
