New Montco Emergency Alert System Launched

A new system to alert residents of emergencies via phone, text, and email is being launched in Montgomery County.

A new system to alert residents of emergencies via phone, text, and email is being launched in Montgomery County.

The current system, ”ReadyNotify” will now become “ReadyMontco.”

All subscribers will need to take steps to update their current account or open a new account in order to take advantage of the new features.

Current subscribers will receive an email from the new ReadyMontco provider, Everbridge, with a trusted and secure link in the next few days.

“ReadyMontco subscribers are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to upgrade to the new system,” a press release from Montgomery County on the new system reads.

Some of the notifications that are available via ReadyMontco include:

  • Severe weather warnings to include tornado watches/warnings
  • Traffic disruptions - major collisions and road closures
  • Shelter-in-place and evacuation information
  • Significant water main breaks
  • Significant law enforcement or fire rescue incidents impacting the community
