A joint operation between several Montgomery County police departments cracked down on aggressive driving over the summer.
Participating in the enforcement were police departments in Pottstown, Pottsgrove, West Pottsgrove, New Hanover, Douglass Montgomery and Collegeville, along with the Pennsylvania State Police and over 330 municipal agencies.
The targeted enforcement took place from July 6 until August 30.

In that time period, deparments made 594 contacts and issued 654 aggressive driving related citations.
Motorists were also cited for unsafe speeds, texting and driving, speeding, tailgating, running red lights and stop signs, and other reckless actions.

The enforcement was part of the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project, and was funded by part of PennDOT’s $2.5 million investment of federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
