Possible Ebola Patient Under Evaluation in Philadelphia

A patient is being evaluated for Ebola at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Friday morning.
According to the Inquirer, the patient, who is in a special isolation room, recently traveled to West Africa.
A hospital spokeswoman said Friday morning the patient is stable and heath care workers believe the risk of Ebola is low, according to CBS Philly.

The hospital released the following statement:
“Preparations for the possibility of caring for a patient with the Ebola virus have been underway for several months at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). A patient who recently returned from West Africa is currently being evaluated in a special isolation room at HUP. The patient is stable and we believe the risk of Ebola is quite low.”
