Science Books to Read This Summer

PEN American Center, based in New York City, works to advance literature and defend free expression. It also works to bring together writers and readers.

Here are the three science books they recommend to read this summer. All of them are available at Upper Moreland Free Library.

1. Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm-Ravaged Hospital by Sheri Fink.

Fink investigates patient deaths at a New Orleans hospital during Hurricane Katrina. After flood waters rose, power failed and the heat climbed, exhausted caregivers designated patients last for rescue. They faced accusations that they injected patients with drugs to hasten their deaths.
