SEPTA Looking to Increase Regional Rail Service

Ridership on the Regional Rail lines is up 50 percent over the past 10 years.

SEPTA is reportedly planning to increase off-peak service on its Regional Rail lines.

At a news event Thursday unveiling a new subway stop, a SEPTA official told Philadelphia Magazine that the transit authority is looking to increase off-peak service on its Regional Rail lines.

“We are moving in the direction of increasing frequency on Regional Rail lines in the near future,” Knueppel told the magazine.

SEPTA Deputy General Manager Jeff Knueppel told Philadelphia Magazine that ridership on the Regional Rail lines is up 50 percent over the past 10 years.

He offered no timeline for the service increases.
