Let’s boost dyslexia IQ by dispelling mythconceptions and examining the evidence! This session will clarify the definition of dyslexia and make connections to the dyslexic experience. The program will explore the sources of difficulties, identification of characteristics and how these challenges can be addressed in the classroom.
Nancy Hennessy, an educational consultant and past president of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), is an experienced teacher and administrator. She is a former national trainer for Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) and currently serves as the Director of Academic and Professional Practices for AIM Academy. Nancy is the 2011 recipient of IDA’s Margaret Rawson Lifetime Achievement Award and NCIDA’s 2012 June Lyday Orton Award.
