UPPER MORELAND, PA — Upper Moreland High School Principal Joseph Carracappa devised a unique way to draw attention to a charity organized by his students.
Back in January, Carracappa told Angel Ennis, an Upper Moreland senior and co-chair of the school's Mini-Thon, that if students raised more than $25,000, he would spent sleep overnight on the roof of Upper Moreland High School.
A total of 168 students, alongside members of the community and the Rotary Club of Willow Grove, combined to raise just over $25,000 for the cause, which supports children diagnosed with pediatric cancer.

Carracappa is a man of his word. This Friday, May 11, he will honor his commitment and sleep on the roof. His endeavor will be assisted by the Upper Moreland Fire Department, the district said.
Carracappa will arrive on the roof at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
