Upper Moreland Student to Receive $20,000 Scholarship

On Wednesday, October 24 at 1:00 p.m. Widener University will be presenting a plaque to Upper Moreland High School senior Gavin Lichtenstein. Gavin is the recipient of the 2011 High School Leadership Award.

This award, co-sponsored by Widener University and WCAU-TV/NBC10 is to recognize high-achieving juniors from regional high schools who have demonstrated academic excellence and character traits that mark them as potential leaders and future citizens of character.  Selected students participated in a distinctive leadership experience at Widener University in the spring of 2012 that began with breakfast at the  National Constitution Center where the recipients were recognized for their community efforts.  Winners  also receive a $20,000.00 scholarship awarded over four years should they enroll as undergraduates at Widener University.
