Upper Moreland Student Wins Missing Children Poster Contest

UPPER MORELAND, PA — An Upper Moreland 5th grader won a statewide contest that challenged students to create a poster for 2019 National Missing Children's Day.

Josephine O'Connor, who is in Mrs. Young's class, will receive several honors for her achievement.

The theme for submissions was "Bringing Our Missing Children Home." Organizers said that submissions were judged on creativity, originality in design, and their adherence to theme.

Accompanying each poster submission was a writtten application judged on theme, clarity, and grammar.

Josephine was presented with an award from Delaware County District Attorney Katayoun Copeland on Wednesday. Her poster has been sent to the national competition judges in Washington, D.C., and the school added that she will receive a formal certificate from the U.S. Department of Justice.
