VERDICT: Man Accused Of Attempted Murder Is Innocent: Report

The verdict is in.

A man was found innocent of attempted murder after stabbing a cab driver in August of 2014, according to a report in the Times Herald.

The jury found that Derrick Lee Jordan, 21, of Elm Street, entered the cab with the intention of robbing, not killing, the driver, per the report.

He was declared guilty of two counts of aggravated assault, robbery of a motor vehicle, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and possession of a weapon with intent to use it, the report states.

The victim survived the attack. Jordan could face from 10 to 20 years in prison but it is unlikely he will serve that much because he does not have a prior criminal record, according to the report.
