WEATHER UPDATE: Timeline of Changeover to Snow in Montgomery County

Rain will likely switch over to snow overnight Wednesday into Thursday, with 6 to 8 inches of accumulation possible by Thursday.

Snow will be heavy at times and make travel “very hazardous or impossible,” the National Weather Service said.

Expect heavy snow during the morning rush hour Thursday, the Weather Channel said. Snow will continue throughout the morning and into the afternoon Thursday, forecasters predict.

Here’s a breakdown of the hour-by-hour forecast, according to the National Weather Service:

Wednesday: Rain likely before 10 p.m.

Wednesday night: Sleet between 10 pm and midnight, then snow after midnight. Low around 23. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Thursday: Snow. Temperature falling to around 20 by 3 pm. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of snow before 10pm. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 6. Wind chill values as low as -4.
