Winter Storm Watch Issued For Wednesday

The National Weather Service is advising travelers to get to their destination by mid-morning Wednesday to avoid weather-related delays.

As much as five inches of “heavy, wet snow” is expected Wednesday, complicating travel ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, according to new information from the National Weather Service.

A Winter Storm Watch has been announced Wednesday for the Philadelphia region and the National Weather Service is advising travelers to get to their destination by mid-morning that day to avoid “significant weather-related delays.”

The storm watch, which includes Bucks and Montgomery counties, will begin Wednesday morning through late that night.

Between two and five inches of snow is expected throughout the Philadelphia region.

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest snowfall will likely accumulated near the I-95 corridor from north central New Jersey to Philadelphia.

Precipitation will likely begin as rain near dawn on Wednesday and then change to wet snow during the afternoon.

“It may snow heavy for a time during the afternoon before snow ends during the evening,” according to the National Weather Service.
