" FACT OR FICTION ? "

LMT – my present understanding !  “ Fact or fiction ? “

“ Good day “  as the Ausies say  !

Fall has arrived and so will the LMT elections shortly – only 3 weeks !

Please feel free to correct me in any way I may be incorrect in any of the following

1]         The Quarry is “ NOT  “  a done deal – far from it, if know the facts, especially legal.

“ NOT “ all capitals and that is “ shouting “  - sorry, but feel necessary to get it over all the “ NOISE “ by others. !

2]         “ All the tax money, if any,  we will get from the Quarry will “ NOT “ pay for Road paving, police, etc.

3]         “There will be “ NO “ additional tax money - Quarries are temporary buildings (“NO” taxes), product goes out “NOT “ in, so “ NO “ tipping fees  and ” NO “ business tax allowed.

4]         Big trucks equal more road damage. Police cost “ WON’T “ be paid for by the Quarry – but by property owners who “ WON’T “ get anything for their loss of property value but higher taxes.

“ IS THAT ALL CRYSTAL CLEAR AS IT CAN BE ? “

5]         If told differently, who “ told “ you those things and why ?

6]         “ Verbal”  is not worth paper printed on !

7]         “ Hearsay “  is not worth much if  anything in legal system. 

8]         Been there done that – learned a lot !

9]         Have you been there, been deposed for hours / days, etc., given court testimony, been involved in lawsuits, etc.

10]       A “ whole new world “ – visit the court house periodically and “ take it all in “ – the long term disastrous results of poor decisions ! 

11]       Yes, I have over a decade – eight [8] lawyers all in some form of burnout due to the stress ! – many stories to tell, but you may not want to hear them – you may not sleep well for weeks  !  This gives me some “ cred “ – how about theirs, yours, others, etc.  Or do those who “ shout the loudest “  are the most believable ?

12]       So all must be in writing !.

13]       Why is it not in writing, posted, mailed, on web sites, etc. ?  Just verbal ? Then later – “ that is not what I said / meant, you misunderstood, I could never say that, who said that, etc. ?

14]       Any comments – written of course for the legal record !

15]       If not, then can we assume you “ agree “  even with no written response otherwise  ?  If disagree, post in writing – why not ?

16]       What else have you been “ just told “  LMT residents ?

17]       Again  anything in writing ?

18]       Have you verified it with your present elected LMT representatives, other LMT officials, fact checkers, etc. ?

19]       Any of this true, or just more “ urban legends,”  wishful thinking,  paid for by others / outsiders, etc. ?

20]       See you at the polls only a few weeks away !

21]       Let your voice be heard – many died and suffered greatly for you to have that “ right “ – honor them by exercising it the best you can or not – your choice you must live with

22]       Your choice also for better or worse for LMT – but  that is democracy

23]       As Churchill said –“ democracy is just terrible,  but best we have ! “

24]       He also said about his opponent –

 “‘ Very modest with much to be modest about ! “

25]       “ So if shoe fits, wear it !

26]       Therefore, maybe we should start playing “ hard “  ball and not soft ball if other side is playing hard ball.

27]       Do we even have to mention Washington, DC  ? “ Children – now play nice “  or parents will be parents and you know what that means !

28]       But how do you send “ adults “ [e.g., elected, highly educated, experienced, etc.] to their room for a “ time out ! ? “

29]       We should, but not necessarily,  survive both in LMT, nationally  and globally,  better or worse, but usual casualties of the “ innocents”  of course who have so little say in so many ways.

30]       The great price society pays – all part of my decades of STS – NSF research as you have been hearing about so much in my so many posts.

32]       Your comments or too shy, paid not too, don’t want too, too busy, other excuses not real reasons, but anything will do, so and so tells me all I need to know about LMT, mind  made up so do not confuse me with the facts, etc.  ?

33]       Your decision and “ no decision “  is also a decision of course.

34]       Choice is clear to me – simply  “ the rookie or the veteran ? “ Gail or Mike ?

35]       Convince me otherwise, in writing of course !

More deer active  - the “ rut “ – reproduction for you “ city folk “ – but be careful –males can be very nasty – so more fawns next spring to watch grow up all Summer.  What a joy – your “ wildlife “ pets, besides your domestic !It Does not get any better than this in LMT – but for how long ?

We “ old geezers “ are dying out –you “ young-uns “ have to take over – but make sure you are prepared !

Once gone, the “Jewel of Lehigh County may never return – we will be long gone, but not  you !

Lot to think about here !

Best of luck – you will need it from our many years of experience “ getting “ and

 “ keeping “  LMT this way – but time to “ pass the baton “ of the relay race to all of you !

Among so many past serious LMT issues, who remembers the “  trout hatchery at Beverly Hills “ - million gallons a day pumping water – wells ran dry, etc. – so similar to the quarry !

You obey the law or LMT “ has to, “ not an option,  take you to court, there is no other option contrary to what some want to believe for whatever reasons !

Very expensive and takes years, but it was finally  over and so will the quarry, “ one way or another “ – but your input –“  voting “ – can make all the difference !
