
The public is invited to attend a talk by Carolyn Elefant, an attorney specializing in FERC pipeline cases, on Saturday, February 16th at Owen J. Roberts in Pottstown. Ms. Elefant will speak on landowner rights in anticipation of the proposed Commonwealth Pipeline currently planned to run through several municipalities in Berks and Chester counties. Citizens along the proposed route are expressing concern for their properties, communities, and the many prized natural resources the pipeline would cut through, including the Hopewell Big Woods, French Creek State Park, and Hopewell Furnace.
The event, hosted by the Delaware Riverkeeper Network, the Pipeline Safety Coalition, and Berks Gas Truth, is open to the public free of charge. Doors open at 9 a.m.. A short film by the Natural Lands Trust on the Hopewell Big Woods will be shown at 9:40 and Ms. Elefant will speak and take your questions starting at 10:00.
