Local Writer, TD Simmons, is entering the world of fiction. With a background writing business documents, articles and ghost writing memoirs and non-fiction, this will be Simmons’ first release into the fantasy realm. “Writing it was the easy part. It just came through me. Putting it out there for others to read, well that is a different story. It feels a bit like baring my soul to the world.”
The novel, Zandrael, is about five teens in current times who find out they are not really human, but came here to help the humans, they just aren’t sure what they are doing. In an adventure that takes them from the east coast to Peru and back again, they wonder whether they are here to save the humans or save the earth from mankind. “The book is about self-empowerment and how we all have a part in creating our own lives.”
Simmons chose to self-publish. “The world of publishing is changing. I didn’t want to sit around waiting for someone to pick me. People are waiting for this book, so I picked myself.”

Will we be seeing more from TD Simmons? Zandrael is the first of a trilogy. But it may be Simmons’ only one. “This is what I have been inspired to do. After this, if I am not inspired, I will not write simply to put out a new book. That is not art, that is writing to expectation and it won’t serve me or the reader.”
