‘Marcellus Works’ Legislation Promotes Job Creation and Clean Energy

Legislators and clean energy business leaders joined together for a news conference in Harrisburg last week to highlight the importance of natural gas development in the Commonwealth and to discuss a package of bills that promotes the use of natural gas vehicles. Company representatives spoke on the success of transitioning to vehicles in their fleets that run on natural gas, from tractor trailers to pickup trucks and passenger cars.

In other news from the state Capitol, a bill I co-sponsored to close the Delaware Loophole and improve Pennsylvania’s business tax structure was approved last week by the House Finance Committee. The Delaware Loophole allows multistate companies to create paper corporations in Delaware to avoid paying taxes on profits earned at locations in the Commonwealth. House Bill 440 is designed to make the state a more attractive home for businesses and to level the playing field for all job creators. The measure now heads to the full House for consideration.
