WHY: As many as one million Americans live with Parkinson's disease, a chronic and progressive movement disorder for which there is no cure. Nearly 90 percent of people living with Parkinson’s experience changes in their speech which can cause them to lose confidence in their voices and withdraw from conversations. This PD ExpertBriefing will help participants to understand how Parkinson’s affects not only speech and voice, but also the gestures and facial expressions that are critical to communication. Participants will learn how to take charge of these symptoms at all stages of Parkinson's.
